Standards
Where a missing piece of public infrastructure can be closed with an open format, we publish one.
ESFI’s standards follow a fixed pattern: identify the missing piece, publish an open specification, build a reference implementation, run it on our own infrastructure, and make the result inspectable. A standard appears here only once all of that exists.
Machine Page Format (MPF)
One page for people. One for machines. Both declared. An open format for publishing a machine-readable companion beside an HTML page. Current version: 0.7.
Each standard is documented with the same structure: an overview, the published specifications, an implementation guide, publishing and discovery conventions, the versioning policy and a registry of verified implementations. Rules are marked as Specification, Reference implementation or ESFI practice, so it is always clear what a conforming implementation can rely on.
Publishing and reading ESFI standards requires no ESFI service, registration or permission.
